Change the world by changing yourself

Do you want your next experience abroad to mean more than just taking the perfect Instagram selfie? Well, when done right, volunteering abroad can become a powerful platform. It facilitates meaningful cultural exchange between the local community and the volunteer, turning what would have been a normal holiday abroad, into something extraordinary. In the end, by volunteering, you have given freely of your skills, your energy, and that very precious commodity, your time. This in itself is rewarding. If you’ve resolved to travel and make a difference, there’s no shortage of amazing volunteer, intern, and teach abroad programs awaiting you.

GoEco was created by experienced volunteers for people who are eager to travel and contribute to the community, wildlife, and environment they visit. Based on years of practice and in-depth field reports, GoEco presents you with a careful selection of excellent yet affordable volunteer and ecological minded vacations. GoEco wildlife volunteer program is an amazing way to travel to exotic locations while protecting and helping with the rehabilitation of endangered species worldwide. From protecting sea turtles on the beaches of Central America and Indonesia to the rehabilitation and research of the Big 5 (lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo and leopards) in Africa, volunteering abroad with wildlife is your chance to really give back to the environment and make a real difference in the conservation of some of the most incredible creatures on the planet.

AIESEC is an international non-profit, student-run organisation present in more than 100 countries. The program was started after World War II to promote peace and cultural understanding. It is designed for college students and recent graduates under the age of 30. Their Global Volunteer program provides youth with the opportunity to develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills through voluntary internships abroad regarding social issues. You can volunteer in social projects or Non-Governmental Organisations abroad. Depending on your passion, you can choose between three different issues: Education, Entrepreneurship and World Issues. It is an experience that challenges your view of the world and helps you to gain a unique combination of multicultural, social and entrepreneurial exposure. Some of AIESEC’s top partners include Sony Ericson, Microsoft, Electrolux, ING, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Artemisia, and Facebook.

A Broader View
With a love for humankind and a motivated spirit to help others, A Broader View was created on the belief that one person can make a difference in the lives of others. A Broader View projects are arranged for volunteers to live with and work side by side local people in a range of fields such as orphanage work, day care, community development, and teaching. For the orphanage and child care, volunteers are asked to provide basic English education, to promote health and hygienic habits, organise recreational games and sports lessons, and assist the staff in counselling the children. In these projects you could find yourself painting, changing diapers, organising a soccer game, washing or cooking for the kids, or simply leading a sing along.

Working Abroad
Working Abroad is the international networking service for volunteers, workers and travellers, which offers you the ability to take action for nature and society. You can volunteer with sea turtles in Costa Rica as one of their marine conservation volunteers, and join Olive Ridley and Green sea turtle programme in the spectacular Osa Peninsula on the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. As a marine conservation volunteer, you will take part in night surveys, monitoring nesting sea turtles, relocating eggs to the hatchery and releasing baby turtles into the ocean.

Fronteering believes that all volunteer abroad projects should be an adventure of a lifetime while helping out in remote areas for a true good cause. For all of the trips, the organisation uses local guides, local transportation and local communities so that through sustainable tourism it can help to protect the environment, wildlife and sustain the way of life of indigenous cultures and communities. Fronteering offers many volunteer opportunities related to wildlife, indigenous people, the environment, sustainability and local communities. Their volunteer abroad experiences focus on remote places—places that need our help the most as there is so much more to lose and so much more to gain. Whichever Fronteering volunteer opportunities you decide to choose you will help with a local cause to truly make a difference in some of the most remote and unspoiled places of this world!
