Two recent all-star games organized by the Nippon Professional Baseball Association (NPB) were, for the first time ever, powered by renewable energy. The first took place at the Fukuoka Yahoo! Japan Dome. The second was at the Hard Off Eco Stadium, Niigata.
Mazda supported the electricity needed to illuminate the nighttime games by purchasing a “Green Power Certificate” for 12,000 kilowatt hours and presenting it to the Nippon Professional Baseball Association (NPB).
Mazda Green Power Certificates are a way for companies and other organizations to use electricity generated from renewable energy sources as part of their activities to prevent global warming. Green Power Certificates, which represent the environmental value of the green electricity, can be traded separately from the energy produced. By using these certificates, organizations can benefit the environment and contribute to the increase of renewable energy generation.
