Two-day full schedule of yoga, meditation, sports and activities

IRIS: Your Escape Hong Kong’s largest health and wellness festival is setting up home at the Nursery Park at West Kowloon Cultural District over the weekend of May 27-28.

With a two-day full schedule of yoga, meditation classes, an array of sports and activities to try and more than 60 health and wellness vendors, IRIS: Your Escape is looking forward to welcoming health enthusiasts and families for a great value weekend. IRIS is the perfect occasion to gather the family and spend the weekend together thanks to a new Family Zone.

The festival sponsor to be announced for this year’s IRIS festival is LUSH, which fights animal testing and supports earth care. LUSH zone with some fun activities include product making workshop, spa experience and two charity groups – Hong Kong Vegetarian Society and Dolphin Family are invited to share about love animal message, to explore more healthy life. Here are just some of the expected highlights and happenings.

The Yoga Main Stage

Yoga has been the foundation on which IRIS: Your Escape has been built. While the festival continues to expand from its first outing in 2015, yoga will always remain at its core and in doing so continues to attract the best yoga teachers around. The serene surroundings of the Nursery Park at West Kowloon Cultural District will provide the perfect environment for yogis to unfurltheir mats and unwind.

Margaret Chung, a well-known and celebrated yoga teacher for over a decade as well as a mum of two young girls, is thrilled that families in Hong Kong are seeing the benefits of yoga for everyday health. “IRIS is a great opportunity to connect and spend quality time with the kids through creativity, play and yoga”, she says. “Bring the kids to IRIS this year to plant the seeds of yoga and wellness into their lives”.

The Meditation Garden

The meditation garden offers a more intimate experience. Teachers, healers and motivational speakers will all share their wisdom and insight while providing a space for guests to unwind after a hectic week. Special guest International Buddhist Monk, Khenpo Lungtaen Gyatso will feature at the festival.

The Discovery Zone

The dynamic fitness space allows participants to break a sweat with capoeira and kickboxing classes or really get the pulse racing with rigorous circuit training exercises led by expert instructors.

Health and Wellness Marketplace

Many of Hong Kong’s most-loved Health and Wellness brands will be setting up shop at the IRIS Marketplace. From delicious food and beverages to the latest in clothing and apparel, over 60 vendors are coming onboard Hong Kong’s largest health and wellness festival to engage with Hong Kong’s ever growing health-conscious community. Flora Fong, co-founder of popular swimwear and activewear brand GOURAMI, is once again returning with her brand to support the festival. “IRIS joins together the best festivities to promote yoga and wellness. Perfect for family and friends, yogis and newbies looking for an active lifestyle”.

And that’s not all… Truly offering something for everyone during a jam-packed weekend, the next edition of IRIS: Your Escape sees even more fun-filled family-friendly activities added to the festival. A Family Zone with entertaining activities for kids includes face painting, art jamming and family-style yoga workshops to allow parents the opportunity to explore the festival while keeping the little ones happy.

Alleviating stress and promoting rejuvenation of mind, body and soul, the IRIS programme of events and activities are not to be missed. Motivational speakers, live performances, prizes, games and much more awaits in what promises to be the most all-inclusive IRIS event to date.
