Perched on the 30th floor with amazing views of Hong Kong’s busy streets and beautiful skyline, Pirata is all about honest Italian food.  Using the freshest ingredients, sourcing organic whereover possible and making use of the best traditional recipes, this is the place to be if you’re looking for rustic flavours.  The décor at Pirata is comfy with lots of wooden furniture (even the menus are placed on blocks of wood!) and vintage chandeliers.
 
We started with a glass of vermouth as Pirata is home to Asia’s very first vermouth bar where guests can select from over twenty vermouths ranging from classic Torinos to boutique New World varieties.   This is best to go alongside the creamy Burrata paired with 24 month aged Parma ham.  Be sure to save room for the Butcher’s Cut, a popular choice on the menu with juicy and tender organic beef flank sourced from Australia.  Pasta is made fresh everyday, even the gluten-free version.  Highlights on the pasta menu include Puple Potato Gnocchi and Tortelloni with Spinach and Ricotta in Butter and Sage Sauce.  The lasgna is amazing, with a crusty surface and layers of soft, melt-in-your-mouth pasta in the interior.  Fresh Fish of the Day is served hot in a pan and soaked in taggiasca olives, cherry tomato, white wine and soft potatoes.  Saving the best for last, the dolci at Pirata are mouth-watering, including the creamy Panna Cotta and moist Tiramisu.  A must-have is the Crushed Chocolate and Dry Nuts Semifreddo that is packed with crunchy walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios and pine nuts served with warm Vairhona chocolate.
