A hidden paradise in HK's Mid-Levels

Nestled in a beautiful cozy space on Mosque Street in Hong Kong’s Mid-Levels, organic spa heaven Sparadise is conveniently located close to the Central escalator and overlooks the historic Islamic mosque.  We were awashed with a sense of peace as we sat down to enjoy a cup of lemon ginger tea before our treatment.

Spa manager Amar, who has 11 years of experience as a spa trainer at Mandarin Oriental, personally did our deep tissue sports massage.  As we’ve been busy training for all sorts of races lately, our muscles were quite sore and this was the perfect treatment for us.  Amar started with our back using gentle pressure and gradually increased pressure as he used slow strokes and deep finger pressure on our muscles.  Our muscles felt loosened as the tension was released and it was especially soothing as he used a rolling pressure going up our spine.  Using an organic oil made with black pepper and eucalyptus, Amar then proceeded with long, flowing strokes on our leg muscles which needed some serious pamper time after hours of hiking and running.  The treatment ended with a massage of our arms and hands and a heavenly head and neck massage which definitely got rid of the muscle knots in our neck.

We awoke from the amazing deep tissue massage and were guided to the outdoor covered terrace space for an organic multi-detox facial.  With birds chirping, bamboo cladding and plenty of greenery, we felt transported to a Thai spa holiday.  We were kept warm with a heated bed and heater in the outdoor space where our therapist started the treatment with Organic Spa’s cleanser and toner.  Organic Spa’s products are developed in Byron Bay, Australia where ingredients are locally sourced along with extracts from fair trade suppliers around the world.  The witch hazel and rose flower oil in the toner is especially great with its anti-inflammatory properties and smelled wonderful as the mist landed lightly on our face and neck.  Next came the steam to open up our pores and our therapist patiently got rid of the blackheads from our face.  Albeit a little red, our face felt super smooth from the process.  She did a gentle and relaxing face massage before the mask, which uses a deep cleansing mineral rich Australian clay from Organic Spa, drawing out impurities from clogged pores and removing dead skin cells.  With the final touch with a hydrating nourishing cream, we came out with a healthy glow in our skin.

From threading to waxing to nail care along with amazing massage treatments, Sparadise also sells a variety of products from organic skincare brands such as Absolutely Gorgeous, Babies Only, Living Nature, Carol Priest, Pangea Organics, So Soap and Nahaia Active Organics.  We also love that Sparadise supports the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation and Chung King Mansion Service Centre, who supplies humanitarian necessities to refugees or asylum seekers in Hong Kong.
