Superfoods meet Supermodels…
The fashion world has a bad reputation for choosing skinny and unhealthy looking models and muses, however, newsflash: HEALTHY is the NEW SEXY and GREEN-JUICE is the NEW BLACK.
So, this week, I’ll be graciously delivering my yummy superfoods and organic juices to non other than Hong Kong’s supermodels at Jones Lang LaSalle’s annual “Fashionista Challenge”, which will be hosted at REPLAY Jeans’ store in Times Square. Yep, just an average week here at Graciously Green and Eat FRESH HQ.
I think it’s important for us organic, veggie-lovers to come out of the closet and start to take responsibility to make greens and healthy-living “cool” and appealing. It’s amazing that, through the power of social media, television, magazines and movie-stars, things such as veganism, green-juicing and yoga (thank you Sting and Jennifer Aniston), which all used to be considered “uncool” and “out-there-hippy”, are now seeing their day in the green-spotlight. Yes, fashion update, wheatgrass is now considered more fashionable than coffee! YEAH! Good for me!
At this week’s Fashionista event, Hong Kong’s fashion bloggers are invited to style gorgeous models, Rosemary V and Carl Ng in the A/W collection from the retailer REPLAY. The bloggers will be the first to see the new collection in Hong Kong. Each blogger will be given 10 minutes to style either Rosemary V or Carl Ng in items from the Replay fall/winter collection. After the event, the photo of each fashion bloggers style will then be posted on to Jones Lang LaSalle’s Facebook page. The “look‟ that receives the most “likes” on Facebook, will receive a fabulous prize! If you want to follow the fun and vote on the looks, see the page here. Follow #JLLFASHION.
At the same time, I’m super excited to be showcasing my S/S super healthy treats and drinks line, such as Graciously Green’s famous Raw Vegan Bounty Truffles, of course, our fashionable Goji-berry Lemonade (using our local organic lemons from Eat FRESH’s Hong Kong farms), a fresh-look Vanilla, Mint & Lemon Water (using real vanilla pods and our organic mint and lemons), as well as some yummy organic crudités, which are great for maintaining model-like figures!
I’m hoping that the fashion-followers and bloggers take note; cola is out, superfoods are in! Wish me luck as I take the fashion world by storm, apron and blender in hand.
