ZERO WASTE WEEK

ZERO WASTE WEEK

CHALLENGING HONG KONG TO SEND LESS TO LANDFILL!

Across the globe, major cities, companies and even countries are setting targets for a brighter, cleaner future without problems like overflowing landfills and plastic-filled oceans. It is time for Hong Kong to take responsibility, as a true world city, and discover the path to Zero Waste. This year from 11-18 November, 2016, Ecozine and the Hong Kong Cleanup will present the second edition of its annual Zero Waste Week campaign.

WHAT IS ZERO WASTE WEEK?

It is a week long campaign incorporating public awareness and on-ground activities. The aim is to develop the concept of Zero Waste in Hong Kong. Anyone can be part of the solution! Simply start with a pledge to reduce your waste to landfill during Zero Waste Week – or any time of the year!

"Zero Waste is a goal that is ethical, economical, efficient and visionary, to guide people in creating lifestyles and practices that emulate sustainable natural cycles. It means designing and managing products and processes better, to avoid and eliminate the volume and toxicity of waste, and to conserve and recover all resources. It is, simply, about living sustainably."

This year during Zero Waste Week, we will be proudly presenting The Zero Waste Global Summit which will include speakers from Plastic Pollution Coalition Founder Dianna Cohen, Zero Waste Restaurants member Bobsy (Founder of MANA! Fast Slow Food), and others, on Friday November 11th. Stay tuned for details and ticketing!

We will also be hosting a regional conference for International Coastal Cleanup Coordinators as the official Hong Kong coordinator on behalf of Ocean Conservancy. Celebrating Ocean Conservancy's 30th year running the International Coastal Cleanup, the event will bring together influencers and leaders of the clean oceans movement from all over the world.

Stay tuned for updates! Meanwhile, you can take action RIGHT NOW with the options below:
