Ocean Fest 2013

6 June, 2013
World Ocean Day
Celebrating the oceans, its inhabitants, and raising awareness

This week in Hong Kong is just full of environmental events! Of course, we have our World Environment Week event series, another terrific Green Drinks was held last night, the Plasticity Forum is happening today, and this Saturday, following our inaugural Ecozine LIVE!, there will be a party to celebrate World Ocean Day: OceanFest 2013! We couldn’t have planned it better ourselves!

We're proud to be supporting this event, organized by Hong Kong Dolphinwatch, Eco-Marine and Plastic Free Seas. OceanFest promises to bring guests a night of “ocean fun”, with a live acoustic set, DJ Simon Pang, canapés, and an open bar between 7-10pm. The three local organizations, which are all working on Hong Kong-related marine issues, will also give brief presentations to allow people to learn about some of the issues facing our oceans.

Also, since inflatables are such a big craze right now (we’re looking at you, Rubber Duck), the organizers have arranged a giant inflatable manta ray to be in attendance! Our Ecozine LIVE! afterparty concludes at 6:30pm in IFC, and the OceanFest begins at 7pm just a stone’s throw away at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum at Central Ferry Pier No. 8, so you can bet we'll be there - come down and party with us!
